Call out for volunteer community artist

April 22, 2022

Emerge is on the look-out for a volunteer community woman artist who can help create mural artwork at its 24/7 refuge.

The artist will work with input from the families who live in the refuge and should understand family violence and its impacts.

“We are keen to hear from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women as well as well women from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds,” Lara, Volunteer Coordinator said.

Importantly, too, is the need for the artists to be experienced in creating outdoor murals, and can provide an art folio with examples of previous work.

“Art is an important part of life at Emerge for the women and children we support, as well as our staff. We anticipate the mural to becoming a much-loved feature of the refuge,” Lara said.
