CLAIRE MARSHALL

Claire is a human rights lawyer with extensive experience working with institutions in the public, private and not for profit sector on how to prevent and respond to gender inequality and family violence. She is an expert in gender equality and has led systemic research on the drivers and impacts of gender inequality and gendered violence in a number of complex settings, advising organisations on how to create lasting change. Most recently before leading Emerge as CEO, she worked as Director on an Independent Review into the Victorian custodial system, Director of the merger between DV Vic and DVRCV, and led a legal and assessment team at DJCS for victim survivors of sexual harassment, discrimination and predatory behaviour in Victoria Police. She holds a BA, a Juris Doctor, and a Pathway to Politics Fellowship from the University of Melbourne.
