Global desire for domestic harmony
Ending relationship violence is high on the agenda for the majority of people worldwide according to a recent global study.
The 2012 Edelman ‘goodpurpose’ study was the 5th such annual global consumer study. Conducted in 16 countries and among 8,000 participants, its purpose is to examine consumer attitudes around certain key issues in society.
84 percent of respondents were committed to ending intimate partner violence and abuse. Ranking in fifth place after concerns including healthcare, environmental protection, safe drinking water and equal opportunity to education, this reflects that communities around the world are taking the issue of domestic violence much more seriously and, importantly, are committed to finding ways to end it.
