Calling it a ‘procurathon’, 14 staff members went to Melbourne Central for a shopping spree with a difference. Swapping retail therapy for giving back to the community, the team bought special gifts for the women.
Community support makes such a big difference to those who have experienced violence. Just knowing that the community is behind them helps to boost the self-esteem of these women.
It’s not just a one-way street either. “Participating in an activity that was both community-focused and fun was a real highlight of our year end gathering,” says Chief Executive Officer Betsy Harrington.
